Look beneath
the bubbling paint.

Visible rust, lifting paint and corrosion around body panels need more than a quick cover-up. Start with an assessment of the affected area.

Rust repair

Understand the corrosion before planning the repair.

Rust can appear as discolouration, bubbling paint or flaking around an exposed edge. What is visible on the surface does not always show the full extent of the affected metal.

Our rust repair service starts with understanding the area involved. We’ll discuss the bodywork condition, the scope of repair and the preparation and refinishing needed for the proposed work.

Tell us about previous repairs in the same place and any areas where the metal appears weakened or perforated. The repair approach and feasibility depend on the condition found, rather than the size of the visible mark alone.

Useful details for a rust repair enquiry

  • Where the corrosion appears on the vehicle.
  • Whether there is bubbling, flaking or visible damage to the metal.
  • How long you have noticed the issue.
  • Any previous repair or paintwork in the affected area.
A closer look

Understand the areas that need attention.

01

Bubbling or lifting paint

Paint lifting around a patch or panel edge can be a reason to investigate the surface beneath. Point out every area you have noticed.

02

Panel edges & wheel arches

Describe the location of the corrosion and whether it extends around an edge or into adjoining bodywork.

03

Repair & refinishing

Discuss how the affected area will be addressed and what finish work is included. The scope depends on the condition of the metal.

Helpful information

Your questions,
a useful starting point.

For advice about your particular vehicle, call 01582 35 31 31.

Can rust simply be painted over?

A cosmetic cover-up does not establish the condition of the metal beneath. The affected area needs assessment so the repair can address the corrosion as well as the paint finish.

Can you repair every rusted area?

That depends on the location and extent of the corrosion. Some areas need more substantial work, and suitability can only be discussed once the condition is understood.

Can you quote from the visible rust patch?

A description is a useful starting point, but the damage may extend beyond what is visible. An assessment helps define the repair before cost and timing are discussed.
